SAN DIEGO, CA – The Mitchell Thorp Foundation hosted its annual Warrior Spirit 5K Run/Walk Family Festival this past weekend in Carlsbad, California. In its 11th year, the event drew in close to 500 participants along with their friends and families and raised over $83,000 to support families whose children suffer from life-threatening illnesses, diseases and disorders.
As the presenting sponsor and a supporter since 2010, IFG CEO Joe Miller gave the opening speech. “I’m not sure whether we should call them heroes or idols, but I do know that Brad and Beth Thorp – for taking the tragedy of the unknown illness that took the life of their son and dedicating their lives to helping others in similar situations – are the story.” says Miller. “IFG and I are really proud to support the Mitchell Thorp Foundation and all the heroes that are involved.”
Of the 15 IFG employees and their spouses who participated in the event, it was Chief Legal Counsel Sarah Kreisman who earned a podium finish taking second place among all adult females and fifth in the over 40 division.
